We're not just dumb. We're dumber than you.

I love it when you're packing to go out to BRC and you get a this great idea for something and you totally feel the need to pull it off.

Like a new costume that will only take hours  of sewing.  Or some fancy electrical or mechanical gadget.   Something that a sane person would work on over the course of weeks, or maybe all summer as a side project.   Especially the kinds where you're all:  "I'll just finish it out there. I know i can do it."

I love more that i'm camping with people that come up with last minute projects like that that are just, oh, giant structures that
will take a lot of hands to build and raise.

Sure, a sane camp (even by burning man standards) would plan a few good weekends during the summer to plan it.  Do a test build and raise or something.   But a few days before you leave for the playa should be MORE than enough time to conceive and build a structure that most camps would be too fearful to build.

And by fearful, i really mean embarrassed.   Because if they were going to build something big.  They'd want it to be pretty.  If it's something you can see from the Man, it should clearly look nice.  Or at least not ugly.

But when you've lived for years with one of the jankiest, awkwardest "men" out on the playa, taller than the Man himself and just as damn visible light-wise, you need to outdo yourself.

Not i think i was being, in any way, more prescient than descriptive in writing this, but i think i got fairly well in the descriptions page:

Gigsville
Gigsville is supporting this year's theme of Devolution by devolving into whatever it is that Gigsville has devolved into. Please plan accordingly.
