PhotoPig fun
In December i had gone out to Deep Creek and hiked back up in the dark and returned to a car that said the temp was 39 degrees. It seemed fine at the time, but as i was a bit sweaty from the hike, i got into completely new, non-soaked clothes for the drive home.
While driving through Apple Valley, i was cruising along and saw a flash go off as i casually cruised through the intersection. I didn't think it could possibly have been red, so i hoped i was just close and wouldn't get a ticket.
A couple weeks later, i got photo proof i was wrong about how close i was. I don't know if it was being dazed from the cold or the fact that (as the nice video shows) the folks in the lane next to me were going as well, including one car that was behind me, but i really didnt think i had run it at all.
A couple times i try to go to the site to find out how much the payment is and the payment site can't find my ticket info. I then start scoping out traffic schools and there's something like 100 to choose from, which is slightly daunting. (If anyone has recommendations, that'd be handy). But i finally pick one and then call the court to deal with it all.
First there's no answer on the main line. I call back awhile later and get a phone menu. Don't know how that didnt work before, but whatever. I pick the "Traffic School Clerk" line. No answer. Wait, call back, no answer. Repeat. Then call back and choose "Traffic Clerk". No answer. Call back, and get an answer.
I give the woman my citation number and she says "Oh that's not in the system yet, when did you get the citation?"
"Dec 9"
"Well you should call us back in February."
"Do i get an extension..." ("because it's "due date" is Feb 11" is what i was going to ask, but was interrupted with...)
"I can't do anything until it's in the system. I think they are behind in entering those."

I think the thing that sets me off with all the phone support folks like this is their lack of acknowledgement that what they are saying is pretty damn crazy. They give me 8 weeks to deal with the ticket and 6 weeks in and i cant do anything about it.
Why mail me about it if i can't do a gud damn thing? It's not like they can even sucker payment out of me, because everything says to contact the court before i can do anything.
