Now that's something you don't see everyday
Well i guess i can add "seen a guy with a bunch of laser sight dots dancing around his chest" to my list of things i didn't really ever expect to see outside the movies but now have.
Since my flight's tomorrow morning, i wanted, like always, to be packed tonight. Unfortunately, like usual, i had a silly errand to run which was returning a DVD to a dvd rental machine. Great idea, but there's one flaw: getting to the machine 30 min before the DVD is due and the machine saying "I'm full, come back later."
Before i got to that point, though, i got to watch a guy fiddle with the machine for awhile and then walk away when it asked for his credit card, so i had to wait for it to time out.
In the meantime, there was a couple next to me who had waited a bit for, i guess, the manager to show up.
The conversation went something like "She called me 'dude' and i didn't really appreciate that. We come here all the time and i just expect better treatment than to be talked to like that. I understand that she's just doing her job and i'm just trying to get groceries, but she called me 'dude'."
That went on over and over as i waited. I think he actually didn't like the tone that she said "dude" in, because after 5 minutes or so of repeating that, he finally imitated her, but he was more stuck on rambling and pointing out that he was called "dude" than anything.
After that i got the message that the machine was full and i decided that, since i'm going to be out of town for 4 days, i should drive to another machine over by my work.
On the way i pass a half dozen or so cop cars with their lights going parked on the side of the road by a motel.
See... while i live on a street that largely screams suburbia from the top of it's every other house has a handful of kids lungs, the main street one block away is lined with motels that are often filled with meth labs and prostitutes.
So it's common, but not and odd site to see a bunch of cop cars descend on one of these motels every once in awhile. I think there was a report once of them raiding one and arresting someone in every single room.
But as i drove by, i looked over to see what was up and there was a guy standing there next to the office with no shirt and his hands in the air.
And his bare chest had a half dozen or so laser dots floating on it.
I'm trying to think where they were. They weren't all in the same spot, but they seemed to have somewhat of a formation. Like 6 pips on a die. Maybe around his heart and lungs, or maybe his stomach.
Either way, if they all pulled their triggers, that was probably going to be pretty messy. Especially if they pulled more than once.
I didn't notice anything in his hands, but it was dark, so maybe i missed the gun or other weapon.
It certainly seemed like a bit of overkill from my perspective, but i was in a car driving away, so i'm not sure that's the best perspective.
I'm pretty sure if this guy had the view i did, though, of him standing there with 6 bright red dots dancing around some presumably vital organs, i bet it would've helped his decision making process a heck of a lot.
