apple was having a sale on getting a free ipod and printer with computer purchase, so i decided to buy my first computer is what seems like a decade.
being lazy, i decided waste gas by making a vehicle drive it to my house instead of me driving to a store. the morning after i made that decision, i realized it would be a lot better to have that delivered at work instead of having that much money's worth of easily portable stuff sitting on my porch.
i call and try to change the address, but their speedy service has already shipped part of the order, so the address is locked in.
the order is supposed to come in 3 different shipments. each landing on a diff day. one today, one thurs, one fri. 2 from Kunshun, China (ipod and macbook), 1 from Sacramento, CA (printer).
at 2 am last night i remembered that i checked the status and saw that now it was saying 2 were going to be delivered thurs (ipod and printer) and the macbook would be delivered on friday.
at 9:30 AM i got email saying that they couldn't deliver a package
at 10:33 AM i got email saying they delivered the package at: Residence
so i had my boss drive by my house on the way to lunch
there was a tag on the door saying they were unable to pick up the package and i could get it after 6:30 PM at their Irvine station or they'd try again tmw
AND
that they left the package at my address with the word "HALL" after it
i eventually remembered my neighbor's last name was Hall and i went back to see and found TWO packages on her patio table
ipod and macbook.
apparently going from kunshun to shanghai to anchorage to indianapolis to irvine to costa mesa is quicker than coming from sacramento
(yes one was air and one was ground, but that's a lot of air compared to that little bit of ground)
