since hippy fwded Slim's twitter post along, i've been news googling "paul addis" waiting for a different source. not that i dont trust Slim or Andie, but citing a twitter post or a blog entry isn't really what i like to do when talking about "news" especially for getting the details right
while talking on the couch, i was doing random stuff on the Wii and hit the News Channel
first headline: "Calif. man gets prison for burning Burning Man", i click and there's everybody's favorite mugshot.
(and what a lame headline)
Seeing Addis' face on my TV wouldn't really surprise me (if i, say, ever watched the evening news). But i didn't really expect it to be on my Wii. (hrm... i wonder if you could do his evil geisha makeup in a Mii)
of course, i dont know why i trust the AP (or any reporters) for getting details right. since they say:
"Addis pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts related to an alleged arson attempt at San Francisco's historic Grace Cathedral ... he was found with an ammunition belt of small explosives outside the Episcopal church. "
Which paints a different light than:
"Addis agreed to plead no contest to only misdemeanor charges of fireworks possession, altering an imitation firearm and possession of a switchblade"
(from
CBS 5 in march)
Ignoring the difference in numbers, too. (i think 2 is the right number. that's the only place i've seen the switchblade thing)
Hell, those folks are probably just quoting
Andie's blog post, anyway. (yes, the numbers don't match there, either, but i'm not sure that means anything)
