Olympics!

Yay for the Olympics. Didn't love the opening ceremony...it was okay - no 'omg loves!' feeling. The United States wasn't one of the last countries to be announced. Greek alphabet how you confuse me. They had Switzerland (or was it Sweden?) between two countries whose name began with the letter E...huh? Anyway, I know phonetics is greatly emphasized in their alphabet so, wanting to educate myself a little, I looked up some info on the subject.

Yeah. I found this page and spent at least fifteen minutes trying figure out the classic pronunciation of omega. Not a pretty sight. I think I'd make a good fish, though. Heh.

Good news: CNBC is giving free programming throughout the Olympics! Excited. Softball here we come! Rowing begins in a few minutes now...not exactly one of my favorite events.but it's the first medal so might as well.

Brother has a baseball game tomorrow at 10, which means the game finishes around noon, which means I might miss a few events (swimming!), which means I might have to break a few traffic laws. Not good. Also, the first softball game is at six. Sleep? What sleep? No one ever said sleep was necessary for survival. =p

Off to watch some rowing.

ETA: Rowing is not the first medal. That would be shooting . Oops.

ETA II: Here's the site NBC has dedicated to the Olympics for those who want to keep up-to-date.
