I know a few lullabies, but aside from that I'm afraid I don't sing terribly often.

That would be lovely, ma'am!

I know of many a mother and Sister that would appreciate something new to bed the little ones with.

[There is a small pause. Her curiosity has been piqued. Unfortunately she still has not found a filter for her brain when she is excited as she is today.]

Are you a mother?

I am. [A mother of three, to be exact.]

Unfortunately, I am not sure it is something one could learn unless they were raised with the song. [It's one of the few shreds of their native language that Faudrin has left, and even then no one can remember what the words mean.]

Still, if you would like, I could sing it for you.

I would love to hear it if you are willing to sing it for me!

[Well, Asma will oblige. She begins to sing - the song is short, but slow and soothing. It's in a language no longer understood, even by those who are from the island it's from. Asma's voice is deep, and has a certain sad quality to it... this is probably one of the few times when her voice isn't completely monotonous.

As she finishes, the journal's translator immediately works to translate the lyrics:

"Sleep now my darling
Lie still, please don’t cry
Rest as the shadows draw near
Keep close, my baby
With me you shall stay
In the darkness, I’ll be with you
And together we’ll dream"

... Interesting. So that's what she's been singing to her children all these years. Not very morbid at all, which is odd for anything that originates from Faudrin. Still, it's nice enough. And it's nice to finally find out what that lullaby actually meant.]
