awards, beef, and family

so i just got back from Logan's steak house...damn i love beef (if your a vegetarian, thats cool, but damn i love meat)...so yeah, my mom came down from h-town to see me recieve this award from the liberal arts department for being in the TOP 5%....AWW YEAH MOTHAFUCKERS THATS RIGHT, YOU LOOKIN AT A SMARTASS NIGGA RIGHT HERE! hahah anyways, it was cool...i got an award and had to walk up and recieve it from the dean of the L.A. dept. so that was my eventful, satisfying day. The other thing i did today other than go to school was read this short story for my english class and there was one part that really made me think...david (a character) is reading from a history book by H.G. Wells in it he read the section on jesus...this was the description:
"he had been an obscure political agitator, a kind of hobo, in a minor colony of the Roman Empire. by an accident impossible to reconstruct, he (the small 'h' horrified David)survived his own crucification and presumably died a few weeks later. A religion on the freakish incident. The credulous imagination of the times retrospectively assigned miracles and supernatural pretentions to Jesus; a myth grew, and then a church, whose theology at most points was in direct contradiction of the simple, rather communistic teachings of the Galilean" the short goes on about how this passage destroys davids faith, but this passage was seen by me differently. I am definetly a religious person in certain aspects, but in the last couple of years i have begun to question some things about religions (wich is normal), and being a history major i have gone along in a factual researching method, and alot of this description rings true to my belief...im not going to go into this further but, this passage has made want to take more history classes on the origins of christianity and the reformation, hopefully Ms. Makowski will be teaching a class on this in the next two years. anyways im out...gonna go play with sarah and layla...
keep ya heads up
