Something weird is going on with the internet

I'm not sure if it's just SBC, or the internet as a whole, but it's a diffuse enough issue that it looks like it might not be SBC. Then again, the fact that I can't even complete a traceroute to SBC's own website means that something haywire going on with SBC is probably likely right now.

I can get to most websites, but some of them will be really slow or ping out. I'm on an ADSL line right now and when I noticed several different websites slowing to a crawl I pinged them and found out why: I got 75% packet loss on one, 100% packet loss on the other. My attempt to ping sbc.com gave me 100% packet loss, so I tried the traceroute and made it to the eighth hope. The ninth hop and beyond all timed out.

I'm just not sure if something is going haywire with SBC right now or if there's a massive DDoS attack going on that's bringing the internet to a crawl. Anyone else having connection problems right now?
