Growing up, the clack of banto sticks filled the village every morning. Teyla remembers Athosians lined up in front of their tents. They perform the same katas that their parents practiced; a thread between generations. Teyla wakes to bright light hitting the colored glass: Atlantis. She sleeps with Kanaan and Toren in the city of the ancestors, caught in the memory of wood clashing. She lifts Toren, places him in a sling across her back. Kanaan arises gracelessly, silent. They travel to the workout room. They face each other with Toren on her back. Teyla smiles, the thread continues unbroken.
