Seven recs in seven fandoms of my favorite lady-centered fics:
Title: Rosemary for Remembrance by Gehayi
Fandom: Hamlet
Character: Ophelia
Notes: A space!AU of Hamlet (please please don't let that put you off, it is an awesome reimagining of the story) in which Claudius is a woman, and Ophelia is the hero, while Hamlet is a dramatic but ultimately ineffective background character. Gen.
Title: And We Will Possess by Dayadhvam
Fandom: Supernatural
Character: Amelia Novak
Notes: This is about Amelia and Claire dealing with the aftermath of Castiel taking over Jimmy's body, and the ways in which their lives changed as a result, and made me really like Amelia. Gen.
Title: The Mourning Woman by M_Leigh
Fandom: BBC Sherlock
Character: Molly Hooper
Notes: A character-based Molly-centered story set after The Reichenbach Fall. Gen.
Title: Marriage a Trois by Sorrel
Fandom: 2009 Sherlock Holmes
Character: Mary Morstan
Notes: This is the only one that’s not totally focused on the female character. I’m including it because, in addition to being a story in which Mary develops a friendship with Holmes, it also explores her role as a woman in Victorian London in a very neat way that isn't overstated. Holmes/Mary/Watson, but principally Holmes&Mary friendship.
Title: The Weapons You Have by Subieko
Fandom: Naruto
Character: Sakura
Notes: Naruto and Sasuke are both super-powered legends in the making with all kinds of special abilities. What does Sakura have? Short character piece and one of the fics I keep coming back to, despite being out of the fandom for about five years. Gen.
Title: Magical Thinking by Kappamaki33
Fandom: Glee
Character: Brittany Pierce
Notes: Offers a unique and really lovely exploration of why Brittany thinks the way she does, in a way that neither infantilizes her nor tries to make her into more than she is. Gen.

Characters: Martha Jones, Rose Tyler, and Donna Noble
Notes: Martha, Rose, and Donna go traveling around the universe after the events of Journey’s End, being badass and adorable and stuff. Some Rose/Martha.
