Stories about women

Feb 09, 2012 23:03

I'm not sure I'm going to manage to write (or rec) anything this year due to real life stuff and not planning ahead far enough, but here are the female-centric stories I wrote last year:

Tribute (written for Yuletide)
Magic School Bus, G-rated gen with f/f and f/m on the side, 2034 words
Third grade has far-rippling effects. About twenty years on, the kids remember Ms. Frizzle's impact on their lives, each in their own way.

Ink, Stone, Paper, Brush (written for Kaleidoscope)
Eighteen Songs of a Nomad Flute/Chinese History RPF, PG gen/het (some implied consent issues), 3021 words
In exile, Cai Wenji writes and sings and loves and longs for home.

Sea-Change
Pirates of the Caribbean, PG Anamaria/Calypso, 619 words
In which Anamaria finds the strength to break up with a goddess.

Keep Us Until the Dawn
Tortall novels (distant past), PG-13 gen with some f/f implications, 2277 words
It is said in the high stony reaches of Ekallatum where none live but goatherds and miners that the Great God Mithros was born in a cave. A slightly AU story of how Mithros might have come to be, and of the fall of Ekallatum, set in the Carthaki equivalent of the Bronze Age; no canon characters here besides gods, but hopefully the connection to canon is sufficient.

in the end (when it all comes down to dust)
Star Wars prequels, PG-13 gen with some m/f on the side, 1855 words
A story about the Tusken Raiders as they might see themselves, focusing on one of the unnamed Tusken women in Attack of the Clones.

The Scourge and the Sword
Star Wars original trilogy, PG gen, 1539 words
When Alderaan is stricken with a mysterious plague and Queen Breha is one of the sick, young Princess Leia Organa has to turn to a dangerous source for assistance.

magic school bus, star wars, .fanfic, pirates of the caribbean, eighteen songs of a nomad flute, tortall
