Fic Recs: Faith (BtVS)
Okay, I'm a little late to the party but I thought I'd start with a recs list for one of my all-time favorite female characters, Faith.
There's gen, het and femslash here as well as crossovers, but I tried to pick stories that focus on Faith regardless of the pairing.
Gods and Monsters by marenfic (Faith/Cordelia, Adult)
Faith is in South America, doing the slayer thing, averting apocalypses, but she's off her game, and she keeps seeing a mysterious woman everywhere she goes. Long and intriguing, one of those fics that just pulls you in and makes you keep reading until you're done.
Southie by Celtic Pride (gen with side pairings)
Faith in Boston, just before Sunnydale. This is a very long fic, but the author uses that length -- the fic explores Faith's childhood, friendships, and romantic relationship with her watcher Brenda, as well as her Slayer-ness.
Open for Business, by flurblewig (gen)
Connor & Faith friendship fic. Very nice portrayal of both characters in the aftermath of "Not Fade Away."
Five Good Things that Never Happened to Faith, by m_phoenix (Buffy/Faith)
set of five drabbles... contrary to the title, it left me feeling that lots of good things have happened to Faith along the way.
Culture Vultures, by yahtzee63 (action/adventure gen with Faith/Robin and Willow/Oz)
Willow and Faith, by chance in the same city, meet up with an old friend and a trip to the museum becomes more than they bargained for. Post-Chosen.
The Uninvited Guest, by yahtzee63 (Faith/Gunn)
"'She will tell us all she knows, all she has done. And we will make our judgments accordingly. So you see -- Faith has nothing to fear but the truth.' Like that ain't enough to be afraid of."
Girl in the War by callmesandy (Faith/Dawn)
"Dawn went to this pawn shop on Fifth Street and Lewis to see if they had the glove and then disappeared," Watcher Junior said. This is a somewhat random pairing, but I really love it and stories like this are why. Nice action/adventure plot with the shippiness.
Lonesome Whistle, Blow My Blues Away, by nwhepcat (gen)
In the grip of grief, Faith goes searching for a remedy. I love stories that consider Faith's close relationship with Angel, and Hepcat handles it nicely here.
Father Goose and the Black Knight, by litmouse (BtVS/SVU Crossover with Faith/Xander)
Note: I haven't seen SVU at all and still LOVED this crossover. The SVU crew find that Cleveland: Not that dull, after all. Mysterious abductions. Suspicious one-eyed men living with underage girls. Evil wizards. Xander annoys Stabler. Faith learns to waltz.

She’s fucking up his sense of up and down, with her preternatural strength and her lack of tact and the way it seems like she looks right through him sometimes. Awesome, epic crossover that sucked me in and made me cry a little.
