1. I think it's true for the most part. The majority of men don't hold doors anymore or give up their coats or meet her parents when picking her up, or even make an effort not to look like a freak on the first date. Half the time there isn't a first date!
2. The majority of girls act like they don't want to be dated like girls used to be dated in the past, but it's all lies. Secretly inside, nothing would melt a girls heart like a guy who cleans up, come to pick her up with a few flowers, and calls her parents "Mr. and Mrs. ______." And then who is genuine and respectful. If a girl doesn't want that, then her intentions are messed up.
3. Yeah, chivalry is mostly dead. But there are still the rare ones around who hold doors, believe in kissing and not telling, etc. Still, if they've never been brought up that way, it's hard to change that.
4. A LTR involves massive amounts of friendship, trust, and huge phone bills. It is big fights, tears, countdowns to the next time you get to see eachother, and LTRs change your relationship for forever. [I just had one for a year...got to see him 3 times. Now we live 7 miles apart, and it's not bliss because we've had to get to reknow eachother.]
5. Again, the majority of college relationships are just based on lust. But I believe that it's very possible to find one based on true love. That's where I think I am!
6. Getting drunk and telling is a big part of the majority of college kids lives but, people enjoy other things too. The ones that feel the need to talk about it all the time are the insecure ones who have drinking buddies because they don't have true friends.
7. Our culture IS being overrun by drugs in general from smoking to meth. It's majorly screwing lives over, messing up relationships, killing people, and turning people into monsters. Is there anything we can do about it? I honestly don't know anymore.
Interesting input... And there are some points that I agree with, most of them in fact... With the exception of four... I don't necessarely think that long-term relationships need to include fights - because they do exist without them....
And for the record, I would like to point out that I hold open doors, love to meet parents (you can learn a lot about a person that way), use manners, kiss and don't tell (anyone in fact... Even my best of friends don't even know - and its not because I would be ashamed if someone found out)... But I have a feeling that I am stuck in old-fashioned roots and am severely dissapointed at the majority of the populous - for the specific reasons that I asked about, which you answered pretty close to what I thought... With few exceptions. It's too bad our culture seems to have little class and respect.
