The first few chapters of this act are going to be profoundly non-linear, but I trust you all to be able to keep up. Hopefully delays of the sort recently experienced will not happen again, lolol.
aaaah coyote as the trickster, I did not catch that until the end there but fuck yes. I was thinking about this fic recently, so glad to see a new part! ♥

I love that troll!John is accidentally offensive when it comes to blood colour. Because he doesn't mean it but that is the society he lives in and he is lucky enough to be blue!

Maybe I am putting too much into this but I am hoping the drawing of the Death card is a good omen? Because it signifies change or transition, which can be a death but doesn't have to be... and for all the repetitions of the game that they've gone through, playing and losing again and again, it seems like some change up ins would be very welcome!

I just find it funny that among them, John is the only one who ISN'T a mutant. Which makes sense, because in-canon he's arguably the best adjusted to society of all of the kids: no ironic upbringing, no grimdark, no being raised on an island by a fucking radioactive dog.
And yes had Jade stuck around to explain the significance of the death card, John would have learned that there is a large change in his future...... unfortunately, she didn't. Goddamn it, Dave, you have some excellent timing. :|b
you are one of, if not, THE best writer in this fandom, and you are amazing, and all your stories are amazing, and i'm glad you're back. i really like your work!
