I figure after a couple thousand cycles of watching everyone you love die horribly and then horribly dying yourself and being able to remember all of it eventually you'd reach a point where it was just like "fuck it, let's have some goddamn explosions". (My impression of Sollux pre-blindness was always that he was a little mentally unstable to begin with even beyond being bipolar, so)

I am... not actually certain? It was always my impression that it was canon because I remember there being some discussion a long time back about how it was kind of a really shitty representation of actual bipolar people, and these were the same discussions about poor representation of people with physical and mental disabilities in Homestuck in general and none of these claims seemed directed at fanon as opposed to the source material, so I suppose I assumed. I would go back and try to check but nnnn re-reading an entire four thousand page webcomic for fact-checking one thing that may not even be there, do not really want. Apologies if I've offended

Now that you mention it it's kind of interesting, given how fandom treats that as opposed to the other popular headcanon about him, i.e. that he has two dicks. I see that one EVERYWHERE and it seems pretty pervasive, but people recognize that it's silly fanon. As opposed to the bipolarity, which with exceptions of actual bipolar people I have almost never seen cited as fanon. People kind of take it as truth, whether it's legitimately canon or not.

(OH MY GOD ME TOO. HIGH FIVE. Karkat is pretty relateable in general, I think, but I feel close to him because of anger issues + hidden emotional vulnerability + being an awful, unabashed romantic.)

Also I think what is "canon" based on what is stated in canon and what is canon based on what actually HAPPENS in canon are not necessarily the same thing, always, and the latter should be valued over the former. Neither do mine, though I feel as though this would be something that fandom would enjoy doing. I mean, there was Sollux/Aradia with her lactating ice cream, for fuck's sake. There's like this odd disproportionate probability curve where the more outlandish a prompt is the less chance there is that someone will fill it until you hit the event horizon and it bends back on itself and people are falling all over themselves to do it. And yes I too am wondering why Noir didn't show Kanaya and Sollux his stabs too. I am hoping there is a valid reason beyond LOLOL he forgot.

I've requested a John-with-an-oral-fixation one and a John/Karkat and Dave/Terezi OH MY GOD YOU'RE NOT DEAD one. The oral fixation got seconded, and I'm actually thinking about reposting it becuase I love it to death. And the super-generic ones actually tend to not get filled, it just depends on the wave that's going on at the moment.
