I found a nearby net cafe... closer than Nagoya at least and less sketchy than any net cafe I'd ever been to before. The computers don't like gchat, but they're pretty fast and should function well as a temporary Internet replacement, I think.
In terms of life, I haven't been writing, but I have been learning a lot of Japanese and I've also been big on self-improvement... though not the kind you can find in books.
I'm really looking forward to being home again in August and coming home for a much longer time in March. I hope by the time March rolls around, I'm a more awesome person. And I hope my Japanese skills are impressive then, too.
