Hah! Mr. Tool's Tool Shed has its 'help wanted' sign up. Again. Aw, poor Mr. Tool, are you having trouble with employee turnover? Could it, maybe, possibly, be BECAUSE YOU'RE AN INVETERATE ASSHAT?

Saturday evening, PF picked me up, & we headed to Superior for another Dead Influence gig. I just need to say, again: Dead Influence rules. And, yes, I'm biased because PF's brother is their guitarist, but, cripes. They are very, very good. So, go. Listen to their music. Come hear them play at the 4th Street Station on March 4th. Be impressed.

Hanging around at the bar was just all around fun, too. I got to meet PF's uncle - who seems very cool - & spend more time with her fam, who, I'm proud to say, seem to like me (although her brother admitted that he mainly likes me because I'm the perfect height for him to lean on). Dead Weight, the band before DI, was pretty good, too - & they'll be even better when they get their talent evened out. Number One Common, the band after...not so good. One of DI's groupies, affectionately known as 'Drunk Fan,' needs to stop 1) taking off his shirt, 2) throwing said shirt at the band while they're playing; 3) climbing on-stage during sets. All of which might take care of itself if he stopped 4) being 'Drunk Fan.'

PF's parents were kind enough to put us up for the night after the show. It was all 4 of us in one hotel room. I was sitting on one of the beds, watching TV with PF's dad & listening to PF & her mom discuss PF's new art projects (which are soooo gorgeous, btw), thinking, This ought to be awkward. This situation should seem unspeakably awkward to me. But it didn't. Hard as I tried, I couldn't make it feel weird. And they sleep in! I think PF's dad & I woke up at about the same time, & that was quarter to 10. Anyone who knows my parents knows that, had it been them, if I hadn't been up by 8, Mom would've made a bunch of noise & then said, "Oh, did I wake you up?" when I threatened to do anatomically impossible things to her in retribution for getting me up so early. The 4 of us went for breakfast, & then we hopped in our respective chariots & hit the highway. And the highway hit back.

Just as we got rolling, this hideously disgusting mix of rain, snow, & fog brought traffic to a crawl & made everyone's life exceedingly miserable, & it didn't kick out 'til about Cambridge. Ah, but we had NASCAR & coconut macaroons to keep us company.

When we got back to my place, PF came up for a while, & I, because I am a truly evil girlfiend (nope, not a typo!), said, "Wanna watch a really silly movie?" & popped the roomrooster's copy of Dopplegamer 3 in the VCR. About halfway through I realized that this was hurting me way more than it was hurting her, because she just had to watch thedamned thing, & I'm actually in it, albeit very briefly. That promted me to say, when the movie ended, "It's a good thing you love me, otherwise you would've just lost all respect for me." Although Go to Hell, the movie we watched on New Year's Eve, may still be worse. After all, DG3 does have an army of Ramsey kids & Donovan beating himself up with a Muppet.

I found this over roseseule's way & found it too amusing to resist:
