It really is scary. I'm so glad Leora's the kind of person who leaves work on time - her commute is the River Road - directly under the bridge. We've seen pictures; it ain't pretty.
Happy to hear it. Open Book is so close I often take lunch in my car and drive down there to Bohemian Flats to eat and stare at the Weisman. So glad everybody so far is safe and sound. Ben was worried that our tech was supposed to start at 6 and I'm habitually late, so I theoretically could have been there. I think that's what's scariest, for like three million of us we all could have theoretically been there. (I was northbound over the bridge at about 10:30 yesterday morning, taking mail to the bulk mail center in northeast, but had fallen into the habit of taking the 10th Ave bridge southbound instead of 35.)
Thank you! Actually, I hadn't talked to any of them. I saw that disco & gunn posted in their journals that the ywere OK, and since gunn didn't say anything about ytinas and the archnemesis not being OK, I was figuring all was well until I heard otherwise.
But you and Dr. X were among the unaccounted for, as of when I forced myself to turn off the TV and go to bed last night, so thank you very much for reassuring my very easily un-assured self.
Um...that, I believe, would be because we were in the middle of our most lastest Fringe rehearsal and had all turned off our phones. Drove our mothers insane, lemme tell ya what!
If you were regularly taking that bridge, I would have to give you some sort of "Longest Commute Ever" demerit. Plus be miffed that you'd come this close and not stopped by to say hello.
I'd love to stop by for a visit if I'm in the 'hood.
Been some time since I braved the merge zones on the Twin Cities main roadways. Who ever thought that was a good idea should be seated next to whoever thought the bridge was still good to go.

Anyway, we're glad that we're okay, too!
