Okay, past few days I've had a chest infection and sore throat, plus a lovely splitting headache. Brilliant. I couldn't enjoy the rain. Anyway, what was worse was that I didn't want to miss the Star Wars event at work. Come today, the World Wide release of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith merchandise, I was getting paid to dress up. I know, I love my job! Miraculously I could talk today, breathe, and my head didn't have a sledge hammer slamming down on it every time I moved. But Scott my lovely Star Wars collector obsessed boss told me I didn't have to come in. I could come in for a while, but he would send me home if I wasn't ell enough. Awww. I was like "*sniff* but I want too!" Everyone just laughed because that is so typically me. So I made it, luckily there was no storm today otherwise I would die. So I attempted to dress as Princess Leia. I had a better top, with the hood as well, but I was too cold and that top is sheer, so that was like a no. But everyone thought I was cute. So yea. Cute? *rolls eyes*
We have Geoffery the Giraffe as our mascot? Yes well every Saturday, someone has to dress in the Geoffery suit. Poor Brenden. Anyway, Scott has a Darth Vader cloak, with the chain. Is very pretty, and I got to wear it. Of course it's huge and I pretty much dissappear in it, but still. So we fitted it around Geoffery, and he got a red lightsaber. It was so cool. Geoffery meets the Dark side. It may explain why 11 children cried when they met him....But everyone loved Darth Geoffery. There was even the epic battle between Luke Skywalker and Darth Geoffery. (Okay so a 12 year old boy bought a green lightsaber and they fought at the front) It was hillarious. I got to meet a lot of Star Wars fans. And the geeks! The collectors spent a lot. I know in the first hour we opened we made over $1000 profit in just Star Wars merchandise. Duh. It was cool, there were people cueing at 7:30am. Ain't it great to be fanatic?
If any of you go to Toys R Us in town, take note of the glorious signs at the front of the store. They are mine! Did I mention I love my job?
Anakin has a scar! (Prepare yourself when you see that! You will die. So hot!)
Padme is pregnant! I mean obviously, but that's how they made her figurine!
Go see the lightsabers! They are all specifically designed to each character, so Yoda's is 30cm. And Anakin's!!! He's is blue, BUT can turn Red! So you can be Darth Vadar. These light up, and make the electronic lightsaber noise!
And I got to see all these before they were released! I was special because I got paid to tag all the Star Wars merchandise. So I was the only one who was allowed near it downstairs. Privileged.
Have I mentioned Posters? There are give away posters for Star Wars purchases, plus the ones I was handing out today. Anyway, Scott use to run his own Poster shop. I won't even go into his collection. That's another fangirling post. Anyway he brought in Episode Two posters, he only had 25, and me getting one is just a given. But Thalia and Megan must show the love because I got you two one each too. Okay. Let me just say that one part of Scott's collection is worth $50,000. He's got original, framed signed posters of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and as Han Solo! He was telling me about others but I was caught up on Han Solo....
Anyway, tired. Not much sleep with not being able to breath and all.
May the Force be with you.
