....I'm going to be try to be as nice as possible about this, but I can't help but comment a little.
People on the Princess Tutu community acted like idiots today. D= Yes, I'm talking about BOTH sides of the argument. x.x
-Yes, it's great some of you saw the series on YouTube first. If you got into the fandom that way, and bought the DVDs, or you're MAKING AN EFFORT to, I applaude you.
-I do, however, agree that there are far too many fans that watch the series and DON'T buy the DVDs. And the series got shafted because of low sales. Those that had the ability to buy the discs for MONTHS (nearly a year now!) and DIDN'T buy it because they were too lazy/too cheap/would rather watch it on YouTube are being stupid, and do deserve some scolding.
(I am NOT refering to people that didn't have the money to get the discs, or only just recently found the show and haven't gotten it yet. If you have a GENIUNE reason for why you don't have the discs yet, I totally understand. It's the ones that DIDN'T have a reason, or had a stupid reason like "I'm waiting for the boxset"(I swear, I can't stand it when people say that for a show this...unpopular!) that make me mad--and yes, you do make me very frustrated, hence the reason why I stayed out of the debate because I knew I'd be rather...snippy.)
-However, nobody that bought the farking DVDs deserves scolding. I don't care why they bought the DVDs. they supported the series. Get off their backs.
Everybody is taking this sort of thing way to personally. I sympathize with the people that got their feelings hurt, but was it really all that bad? I'm going go get some flack for this I'm sure, but come on, we're all adults (or at least teenagers) here. Surely this arguement isn't worth having people angry at each other and even "taking a break from the fandom", is it? If you feel you have to, fine. Take a break, I wish you well, and i will miss you (I really will, and I'm actually quite depressed about it), but it seems extreme to me.
Sorry for the rant. I don't mean to get on anyone's backs, I'm just...perplexed and disturbed by this recent arguement. x.x;
Sigh. Where's Tutu when you need her? We need some magical feel-good dancing ASAP.
