I feel like I've had a secret that I've been keeping from you. I do have news, but it hasn't been a secret. Just wanted to sit down and write it all out properly.
Over the past month (month and a half?), I've been interviewing for a job that would essentially be a promotion. Clinique is basically structured the same in most retailers. I currently am employed by Hecht's/Macy's. This structure goes Beauty Adviser (my position) - Counter Manager - Account Coordinator - Account Executive. The first two are the only ones that are based at one counter, the latter two are positions with multiple stores.
However, there is one retailer that is different - Dillards. They saw the difference that an account coordinator made when he/she came into the store and decided to combine that position with the counter manager, creating a position that is only at one counter, but with more responsibility. It's called a Business Manager and they offered me that job last week. What's SO exciting about it is not only will I be TOTALLY responsible for a counter - but I get paid salary with bonuses! SO much better than an hourly rate. And it's actually a decent amount. I'll be able to pay rent! ;)
Anyway, that's really all the news I had.
Something really fun as a side note though - Niki Taylor (the supermodel) joined my church last week. I met her when she visited and she introduced herself as Nicole. Apparently she told our pastor that she wants to get involved. Neat, huh?
