Tis November.

How did this happen so quickly?

Je ne sais pas!

Yesterday was good. I guess it was Halloween. James came over. I made dinner & dessert... Honestly I felt inspired and really really just wanted to do it. I don't know why I didn't tell him that. In any case. I made lemon/basil/rosemary chicken, slightly-paprika'd basmati rice (with bits of red pepper for color), lemon-peppered green beans, and rosemary/basil spelt flatbread for dinner, along with a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Dude that cake recipe is frikkin' amazing. Four ingredients --> absolute chocolate heaven. I had a glass of Ballet of Angels wine with my dinner. Twas yummy.

After that, we each had a cup of Kusmi Prince Vladimir tea, which is a delicious tea... And we watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, since James hadn't seen it before. Good times.

After he went home around... 3 AM??? I honored Beau's passing, in light of the holiday....... Which also made it somehow kind of appropriate for the "tree people" to have come earlier yesterday to take out the 4 unhealthy trees on our property, and, murderously, also the healthy pine tree that just happened to be in the "wrong place at the wrong time," growing toward our house, right outside of my own window. Ugh. So sad. And it's so unnatural and wrong! I liken the idea of cutting a tree down because it's growing into the house, to an attitude of "Well squirrels just shouldn't be so stupid as to run into the road and get killed by cars, that's too bad for them, but I have to drive and stuff" - as though roads and houses are normal and natural, and trees & squirrels are the ones intruding. Fuck! But I am just as guilty of driving places, and of living in a house that sort of disrupts the natural ecosystem... :-/

Anyway, the pine stump is where I put the little memorial to Beau.

Not sure what else to add here... Hope y'all are well. I might post more later, but if I do it'll probably not be public.

Ciao all!
