1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Put iTunes or equivalent media player on random.
3. For each song that plays, write something related to the theme you picked inspired by the song. You have only the time frame of the song: no planning beforehand: you start when it starts, and no lingering afterward; once the song is over, you stop writing. (No fair skipping songs either; you have to take what comes by chance!)
4. Do 10 of these, then post.
Well, I chose Suju (natch), and then proceeded to demonstrate why I should not be made to write anything under a time constraint. Enjoy. Or at least don't be too pained by my fail. (And be forewarned: things may stop mid-sentence and/or make little to no sense.)
10 Songs Meme, Suju Style
The Rankin Family - Ho Ro Mo Nighean Donn Bhoidheach
Hankyung doesn't get homesick, is fine, is happy in Korea, except sometimes he has dreams. He dreams of home, of his mother singing softly in the kitchen as she washes dishes, voice lilting into his room as he falls asleep, and then he awakens and the dorm is cold and different and the moon
Cher - Walking in Memphis
It was just as a joke, at first. People kept telling him how pretty he was, and he wanted to show them he wasn't, not that pretty, and so he dressed up in a school girl's uniform when he went out clubbing one night with Hyukjae and Donghae. They laughed, but not quite enough, and he noticed how their eyes strayed to his bare thighs, lingered on his red lips. At the club, strange men danced up on him, and he tried to tell himself that he didn't like the press of them against his back or the feel of their fingers slipping up under his skirt, but the next week he went out again, this time in a little black dress. He blew a stranger in the bathroom and when he got back to the dorms he jacked off thinking of the man's hands in his wig and the sound of his voice calling him "pretty"
F.O.H. - I Believe
It was hard at first, almost physically painful. Siwon had grown up believing that certain things were right and certain things were wrong, and then one night Hangeng kissed him and his lips burned for days. It was wrong-not that it had happened, but that he had liked it, had wanted more, had dreamt dark dreams and woken up sticky and hot with shame afterwards. It took months for the pain to fade away, for the world to resettle, and then one days his hand in Hangeng's felt right, and he could smile when they kissed, and he believed in something else altogether.
Nicole Theriault - Tah pen muer korn
Kibum keeps a diary. Siwon first notices this when they're in Thailand together-every night, Kibum sits out on the beach and writes, small, neat characters in straight, neat rows. Sometimes Siwon sits with him, sometimes he doesn't, but he never reads what Kibum writes, and Kibum never offers any information. On the last day, Siwon can't help himself, asks, "So what do you write about in there, anyway?" Kibum smiles and hands him the diary. When Siwon finishes reading the next morning, he barely has time to quit crying before they have to catch their plane.
American Boychoir - Once In Royal David's City
Yesung had never been impressed by anything before he met Ryeowook. At first he didn't even know what he was feeling-he just thought maybe he hated the boy with the angel's voice.
The Nylons - Up the Ladder to the Roof
Donghae was cheesy. Really cheesy. Hyukjae spent a great part of his time with Eeteuk, and yet he could say with confidence that Donghae was by far the cheesiest person he had ever met. It was strange, then, that when Donghae took his hand and dragged him up the stairs up to the rooftop and then slid his arm around Hyukjae's shoulder and said, voice hushed, "Isn't it amazing?" Hyukjae didn't find it cheesy it all. It was amazing, and the stars and Donghae's arms left their imprint
浜崎あゆみ - Moments
When car crashes, Kyuhyun hears an ear-piercing screech and feels he stomach turn sickening loops, and then suddenly the van is gone and replaced by flashes of people, places. Eeteuk smiling and saying, "Welcome home," as he shows him his bunk. Sungmin rubbing his back and offering him water after the first practice. "You'll get used to it." Donghae mercilessly tickling Hyukjae and making Kyuhyun laugh just as hard with the look of mischief on his face. Ryeowook sneering, yelling, slamming the door. When he wakes, it's this last that he remembers, and he calls Ryeowook every day from the hospital and leaves a message every time. he has to wait more than a month before he comes to visit. He hopes Ryeowook understands everything he puts into the hug, thinks by the tears he sees glistening in his eyes
Wilson Phillips - Hold On
No one will admit it, but Heechul is actually the best dancer in the group. It doesn't matter if no one will admit it, though, because everyone knows, and Heechul makes sure no one forgets it. He's a better Wondergirl than that bitch Sohee and he can dance like any of the girls in Girls' Generation and someday, he thinks, he'll push to the front during one of their performances and do everyone's dance at the same time, and Eunhyuk and Hankyung will look like total tools and everyone will have to recognize his kinetic genius. He likes to sit in a high-backed chair and stroke Heebum as he thinks about this.
Leslie - Le Bon Choix
Kangin knows he's made the right choice when Donghae starts dancing. The boy's hips move in a way that makes him bite his lip, and then the clothes begin coming off and Kangin can't resist copping a feel when he slips a wrinkled bill into the stripper's g-string. Donghae just smiles at him and straddles his hips. "The more you give, the more you get..."
EXILE - ただ...逢いたくて
Sometimes Siwon goes outside alone to look at the stars, and Heechul knows he's thinking of him, missing him. It makes him mad, jealous (though of whom, he's not sure) and sometime he yells, hits, says awful things just so Siwon will look at him and stop staring up at the sky with that faint smile on his face. Heechul thinks that if there are going to be three people in their house, in their bed, he should at least be getting more sex, or that's what he tells Siwon. What he really thinks is that he misses Hangeng too, maybe more than Siwon, maybe more than anyone, and that if he doesn't pretend not to-pretend even to himself-they'll both fall apart.
