It's nice to finally be able to return to work, though it seems that we lost an employee while I was out. It's a shame, but we'll simply have to work around it.

It seems you've been busy lately. Is there more of this?

It seems like quite a few people are disappearing lately. How... troublesome.

First Ginko, now you. Perhaps I should have gone to better lengths to mask my handwriting.

There is more, or so I'm assuming. The journal itself had pages ripped out. Something she wrote needed to be hidden. What it was, I couldn't say. I only had time to copy those entries.

The numbers do seem to have increased as of late.

Hm. Presumably these pages weren't ripped out to hide them from the Mayor herself, so it seems that the Mayor's diary being stolen or copied was something expected. Which means that who or whatever removed those pages doesn't mind or perhaps even wants us to know what's in the rest of it.

Feed one piece of the journal to the masses and suddenly people are curious what the ripped out portions are. If only we had an idea where those portions ended up.

Most likely they would've been destroyed, but even if they weren't, there doesn't seem to be any telling where they're hidden. Incomplete evidence is a bothersome thing.

I have to wonder if it would be as simple as that. Has anyone succeeded in destroying their journal before?

I've never heard of someone trying. It seems like it would be a counter-productive thing to do. Was the Mayor's diary a journal like ours?

I couldn't tell a difference apart from age. Hardly a surprise, though.

I would've presumed a separate journal for privacy's sake, but then again, it seems hers would predate the actual system.

Well, should we take it at face value, it seems about accurate. I found myself unable to read anything that happened before I arrived, so these entries seem to predate anyone arriving.

Of course, the fact that it may be a separate journal entirely is also plausible.
