Truth has no secrets

This past weekend I attended the worldwide Eckankar seminar in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I travelled alone and met up with a ton of old friends. Eckists from Buffalo, Lynne, her friends from Ohio and Iowa and all over. I stayed with Lynne and Bev (bev is from ithaca too) and it was an incredable experience. I learned so much about life and connected with incredable people. I met these two sisters from England, spent time with a woman from an island near alaska and I talked with a men from Nigeria and the Ivory Coast. There were people there from Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Singapore, all over Europe-anywhere you can imagine. ALl in all there was a little over 6,000 of us there and I can't describe how good it feels to be that close to so many people who share this rare and special bond with me. It's like we all get each other- no matter what language we spoke or what age we were- we could all relate to each other because we love our spiritual path. And we are all so used to (more or less) standing alone and having to explain ourselves to people and that's ok but to finally be someplace where we are the majority felt awesome. I went to the temple of Eck in Chanhassen, MN and it's just beautiful. There have been a few changes since I was there last- a new outdoor chapel, the new spiritual center, and lots of new paintings in the art gallery. There were new tapestry's of the eck masters in the chapel that were just stunning. The blue star icon that I have is actually a picture of the glass ceiling inside the sanctuary You can go to www.eckankar.org to take a virtual tour of the temple or learn more about it. It was an enriching right of passage for me and I'm so thrilled I got to go. And I didn't even have to fake a mental illness to get out of work ;)
