Boxer/Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppies yayay!
Ok so Lola had her puppies Friday afternoon. I figured she would have four puppies. She wasn't that large...well she was big but not too big like i've seen other dogs be. Edna thought she would have six.
NO, THE DOG HAD NINE PUPPIES.
Srsly, we're not sure how she fit so many in there. In addition, we thought she was done after the eighth one because she was calm and resting and we could feel no more...but then she popped another out.
So, final count is five girls and four boys. The biggest of the litter was the 2nd born (girl), and the smallest was the 4th born (girl). None of the litter died (not yet at least) and they were all of a healthy size.
Total birthing time clocked in at 6.5 hours, total labor time was about 17 hours. TOTAL TIME: 23.5 hours. Ug.
