madrid media roundup and upcoming schedule reminder!
in the last few days, it feels like there's been an avalanche of stuff going on, so i thought i would do a mini-roundup.
first, this beautiful video from adidas featuring both players and fans: "what does real madrid mean?"

today nike came out with a new pre-world cup ad, featuring our lord and savior jesu cristiano among others, as well as a certain argentinian bubble-butt ex-player:
(there's also an irina cameo, for all you crisrina shippers out there.)
meanwhile, for those fans of la roja, here's a teaser for an upcoming commercial that the spanish nt did with movistar, "we struggle with you," where players are transformed with makeup magic:
check out xabi's transformation into, i imagine, a hotty-hot english professor.
aditionally, nike had a promotional appearance in madrid to show off three of our players in their new nt kits:

Regarding his return from injury, he said: "I was obviously out for two months and what I love most is being on the pitch. I recovered earlier than expected and that's why the game against Bayern was so special, because I was happy and things turned out well."
Their chances in Munich: "We're going to play a similar game to the one we played at home. We know that Bayern are a great side, but we have a slight advantage and we're going to try and take advantage of that. It's going to be tough, but we have our strengths, the team is brimming with confidence and we're going to try and score."
A tenth European Cup title: "Real fans dream of that long-awaited tenth title. It's kind of an obsession for them, which is added pressure on us. We've played three semi-finals in recent years, but I think we're going to make it to the final this time. This game against the reigning champions is going to be like a final."
Portugal's hopes at the World Cup in Brazil: "Too much pressure isn't good, but I like a big challenge. The day I don't feel the pressure, I'll hang up my boots. I'm Portugal's captain and that's special. I'm very comfortable. I enjoy singing the national anthem with the rest of the stadium, it's a unique experience. We aren't favourites, which is good. It takes some of the pressure off us and we're going there to enjoy ourselves. We'll take it a step at a time."

in sadder news, tito vilanova, barca's manager from last season, died today of esophageal cancer. florentino passed along the club's official condolences: "I would like to express my sadness for the passing of Tito Vilanova and, on behalf of Real Madrid, offer our condolences, support and warmest feelings to his family, F.C. Barcelona and in particular his wife and children. Today is very sad day for football fans everywhere and as a man and as a professional his life should be remembered fondly".
