Really Moosie, I have nothing to add.

*applause*

I'm pleased that we now go away in Europe to win, not to draw.

I'm not the least bit impressed with Bale yet either. When he scores in the derby or el clasico I might bother sitting up after one of his goals. For now, they are against very poor opponents. And yes, our CL opponents have been poor thus far.

Isco's lack of playing time and these horrifying transfer rumours are upsetting me.

I had a long comment planned on Xabi - but you summed it up. Xabi's contract renewal may have been a long-term error. You are required, if you play him, to cater to his needs. He's not adaptable. If we changed formation he'd need Khedira next to him (which is what keeps Sami useful). Otherwise, you have to play 4-3-3 to cover for his lack of mobility and the fact that Bale is a defensive passenger ahead of him. I found it surprising that against Schalke, they could still get their way down our centre before they gave up. And finally,

The Iker vs DLo situation is so full of disrespect, is such an obvious punishment by Perez because he needs someone to blame for Mourinho soiling his own bed, that it makes me literally sick. I've just about had it up to here with it. If it isn't resolved in a timely fashion, I'll boycott. (LOL - I threatened that in September and I'm still here...whatever. I PLAN to start boycotting...eventually...)

Your opinion on the Ultras - and Arbeloa and Xabi having lunch with their representatives and DLo throwing his jersey to welcome them back?

The lunch happened last year at the end of the year.

Lopez and Arbeloa are very...supported by the Ultras, shall we say. They and the Twitter-warriors/Moudridistas/journalists who are very anti-Iker like ascribing leadership qualities to him. Seen the "Cap17an" hashtag? It's to discredit Iker and Sergio, of course. You talk about a "true captain" when you want to discredit or deride the people who actually are the captains.

The club has done little enough to discourage this disrespect, perhaps because certain people feel that someone needs to be punished for Mourinho's final-season implosion. It couldn't just be we ran out of ideas on the pitch, played poorly, and had no plan B - that would be too obvious. Someone has to be to blame in the dressing room.

These are the same people who behave like VdB is anti-Madrid. They're off their rocker.

I believe that the most obvious explanation for something is usually the case. The team played badly, and had lots of injuries last year. Full stop.

At any rate, when they came back (the Ultras, that is), Arbeloa and Lopez threw their shirts to the Ultras. You can call it political naivete, or you can call it very calculated.

About VdB - there are NT tensions leaking into this.

Ramos spent International break making sure Costa was comfortable and settling in - you know how Sergio is, right? He was welcoming, cuddling him constantly - making sure he felt like a proper teammate - one of the group. He's an actual leader. My darling, big-hearted Sir Galahad <3. That's the type of attitude the old gentleman likes to see. Not deliberately trying to injure a possible Spanish NT teammate in a match - which Arbeloa did recently.

Throw that Cap17an hashtag right out, thanks. Sergio does behave badly occasionally (though recently, not). But he was always SO SORRY he did. He has a huge heart. Remember his post-Puyol press-conference? But deliberately raking your cleats along an NT's teammate's cleats is the type of cold-blooded behaviour you would never see from him.*

*Yes, that incident still makes me angry.

I think me-moose can fill in more blanks for you as her Spanish is better and she finds it easier to follow intrigue in the press.

The lunch I think Jenny is refering too was not with Ultras, it was with an informal group of journalists and twitter users dubbed "la Yihad Moudradista", a name Siro López, among others, have taken too with gusto. It took place in March last year or there abouts and I don't think Diego López was involved, it was Arbeloa and Xabi who arranged it.

I don't think there's much to it, the main reason "the lunch" keeps popping back up is that some of the twitter users who participated (https://twitter.com/atooca (who has given interviews about his lunches with Arby), https://twitter.com/Chamartin4ever and https://twitter.com/Haiku_T) has a tendency to post some truly unpleasant things about Iker and Sergio. And VdB. And well, everyone who is not Arbeloa, Bale, López or Xabi.

Mr Haiku (who Arbeloa has acknowledged is a friend) and the Chamartin guy were very involved with Primavera Blanca, the "platform" the club put in charge of organising the Grada Joven. PB has since decended into cilvil war and their president has resigned (this guy: https://twitter.com/guerreroburgos Such a lovely man. Besides worshipping Mou, hating most of our players and just being an all around asshole, he also has a long history of rampant homophobia. I have no idea what the club was thinking involving PB in *anything*.), but Haiku and Chamartin has kept their places in the Grada Sur which might have been what let to confusion of these guys with the Ultra Sur.

A few months ago a picture of López having lunch with Ochaíta, one of the leaders of US, was making the rounds but I didn't save the link and I have no clue what the actual context was. It could just be Ochaíta asking López for a pic for all I know.

Arbeloa's actions on twitter tends to generate a lot of backlash, mostly because of some of the people he follows. Of course he is not responsible for their actions, but when people he interacts with openly wishes for Sara to miscarry and later goes after Martín I cannot help to let it reflect in my view of Arbeloa.

Oh and the shirts. Arbeloa and López threw their shirts to the Grada Sur after the Elche match, but if it was to welcome back the Sur or to their friends in from the PB idk.

I still don't get why these people have latched onto Bale of all people. The others at least make sense from their pov, but Bale?

You mean why he's an idol?

Because he represents the unabashed, unapologetic Perez-era in so many ways. Everything about the transfer - even the way his price doubled as soon as we made the enquiry (Perez spent the summer bidding against himself) seems to symbolize what you could claim Madrid of the last decade brought to world football: massive spending on unimaginable scales to get instant success.

So consider it a sort of indirect approval of Perez. There's no Mourinho - the Galactico coach - anymore. But we've got Bale? I dunno. I don't think these people think things through very clearly.

At first I was mortified that I had remembered the lunch incorrectly - but they're all the same, aren't they? "Ultras" and their "Ultras" ;)

You can't trust this club to organize itself out of a paper bag :p
