Keep in mind: the national team angle - which everyone always forgets! Argentina may have a crap midfield and a comedy-defence, and will never win a major title in my life-time (HA!) but they are massively front-loaded with offensive talent - ostensibly anyway: Messi, Aguero, Tevez (if he ever gets called up) et al., *shudder*
It reminds me of the Lass problem: he's too good for most clubs, but not better than Khedira - which taints his existence when no one can afford him or his salary. He's probably lost his squad place for France in a year when the Euros are on - forget any starting place. If he's called up at all I'll be shocked and awed. This is a personal tragedy I can really feel for. International football will always be what I love most and succeeding on one's national team is my criterion for football greatness. Imagine being that good, good enough to start almost anywhere else, and losing your national team spot because others get more regular football.
