Fabio Coentrao showed his most personal side in the latest installment of the 'Real...' series. This interview airs tomorrow at 22:00 CET on RealmadridTV.

Beautiful Lie by Keemo, a beautiful song chosen by Fabio Coentrao to start this interview. Good evening and welcome to Real Madrid TV.
Good evening. It's a song that I like very much, it's very nice. Unfortunately I don't speak great Spanish!

But the people need to know that you're making a huge effort to speak to us here today on Real Madrid TV in both Spanish and a little bit of Portuguese. The people want to know the real Fabio Coentrao, Fabio the person. You are a little shy and don't like to speak too much. Is that the case?
Yes, it's true. I am person that doesn’t like to talk too much and I would consider myself a pretty regular person.

When Fabio was a young boy he came from the area of Conde in the neighbourhood of Caxinas. What was this neighbourhood like?
Well it's a place that I like very much. The people are great and I feel very much at home there. When I finish my footballing career I will return, because I lived there for a very long time and it's a place that makes me happy.

It's a fishing village. Can you describe it for us? Is it full of small houses by the sea?
Actually the houses are very nice. They're not small at all; in fact they're quite large. Despite some problems in the area, people there live well.

You said something very nice just a moment ago. You said that the people in Caxinas are very nice. Why are they so special?
They are very much like me and by that I mean that we understand each other.

When you were a child, what did you dream of when you went to sleep?
My dreams were all related to football. I have always loved the sport and have always played it. My mother tells people a story of how I used to sleep with a football in my bed.

So you used to go to sleep with a football and wake up with it in the morning.
My mother always says how I would never let go of the ball and that is why I was always dreaming of becoming a professional footballer. I then worked very hard to get to where I am now.

Before you became a professional footballer you had a job as a painter. How old were you when you started to work?
I started to work when I was 13 years old. My first job was with a baker’s, and then I was a painter. I also dabbled as a construction worker and then got my break in football.

Did you work because you had to help your parents out in whatever way possible?
My parents emigrated to France when I was young and I stayed behind in Portugal. I had everything I needed but I worked so I could have money for myself to go out with my friends and buy nice clothes just like every other 14 or 15 year old.

Every player who has played at the Santiago Bernabeu says that the stadium is very special because it's so huge when you stand on the pitch.
It's a fantastic stadium that is always full of people for every game. I remember the first time I stepped out onto the pitch. I felt great and very happy.

Is it true that Chelsea gave you a trial but they said you didn't have what it takes?
Jose Mourinho was actually the coach when I went there for my trial. He watched me train and then afterwards told me that I was a very good footballer and that he was very pleased with me. After that nothing happened and I returned to Portugal and Benfica.

So if it had been up to Jose Mourinho you would have played at Chelsea… What do you like to do in your free time? After a training session do you go home and spend time with your family?
I like to spend a lot of time with my family and in particular with my daughter and wife. I like to live a healthy life. That makes me happy.

Do you sometimes go to Cristiano Ronaldo's house to pick some vegetables to make a soup from his vegetable patch? Explain that a little bit.
I've only been in Madrid for a short period of time so I don't know many people here. I know Cristiano from before so I spend a lot of time with him. I go over to his house and if he doesn't answer the door I jump over the wall to take some vegetables!

Are you happy here in Madrid?
Yes, I am.

What do you think of it as a city?
I'm very happy here. It's a beautiful city and a very good place to live.

When we announced that we were going to do RealCoentrao, a lot of people on Twitter, Facebook, Realmadrid.com and the rest of the club's social media sent us a large number of questions that we should ask you. We've already asked you some of them already, but I wanted to let you know that a lot of people think the world of you. I've seen it with my own eyes walking down the street with you. Everybody seems to have a lot of respect for you. Who is your best friend in the team? Is it Cristiano Ronaldo because you get a lot of food from him?
Yes, it's Cristiano Ronaldo. He is a very important person for me. He has helped me a lot. I also have a fantastic relationship with Pepe and Marcelo.

FOR THE RECORD, I SUBMITTED LIKE 8 QUESTIONS FOR HIM AND ONE OF THEM WAS THE BEST FRIEND ONE. I AM GOING TO BELIEVE THAT THEY CHOSE MINE SPECIFICALLY...BECAUSE I AM INSANE.

Iker Casillas is always hanging around with you.
Yes, he is but so is everybody else in the team. Saying that though, I get along the best with Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo and Pepe.

It's time for your final question tonight. Could you send a message to all Real Madrid supporters? Tell us what your dreams and hopes are for this season professionally, in your personal life and, of course, for Real Madrid.
Professionally, I want to work very hard this season. It's the only way I know how. I hope that the team wins a lot of titles and trophies this season.
