Just like the days of my youth, playing games in the middle of the street right in front of the house, I hear myself yell out "Game on!" after a car drives by and we can resume our play.
Well, that's what I hear every Monday. I have a renewed sense of game-on-ness.
Although, my game was on last night.
Wait.
That sounded so not right.
What I mean is, last night I started AND finished a project in one sitting. Which, for me, is a big deal. I'm known for starting projects and leaving them be, but last night I was fueled by a sun rich day and a jaunt to the shops on Hawthorne. Those shops, feed my need for creativity, and I left the city with a full soul.
So what was this project?
Well...
I made my very own tutu. Yes. I'm 32 and I wanted a tutu. So what of it?
What do I plan on doing with said tutu?
I plan on running the Shamrock run with it on, it it's full glory. I mean, it'll be my first organized run. NOT walk. But RUN! And why not punctuate that day with some sparkly tulle? Armed with a 40% off coupon for Joann's, why the hell not?!
And now that I've got one tutu under my crafting belt, why not get ready for other tutu needs? I'm thinking a black one for October. And a pink one for February. And how about a red and white one for December?
And when I got through it all, I thought, man, I'm going to be a kick-ass mom some day. I'll be able to make my little ones tutus... or capes... or whatever, shall the need arise.
Oh. And Saturday's white trash themed birthday party.... ya, I rocked that nascar t-shirt. Slashed expertly into something quite awesome, if I do say so myself.
So ya. This weekend the game was so on for the crafty-crafterson I've got within. Unfortunately, crafterson kicked the athlete to the sidelines. I didn't hike as I intended. Nor did I run. Nor did I bike. Thank god I managed to spend a few hours in the sun with BWBB... even if it wasn't doing anything that makes one sweat.
And now it's Monday. Enter stage right... the Athlete. Crafty-Crafterson can now sit sidelines while I get my first outdoor run on. It was announced at staff by my boss, so I pretty much gotta do it now, right? LOL. And it is amazingly beautiful out. It'd be quite a shame not to try and run today.... outside. Wish me luck.
goal,
bwbb,
happy moments
