Can Karma bitch slap you for the things you can't help? I usually don't like to take joy in the misfortune of others. But I just experienced a moment of schadenfreude today. I can't help smiling about the situation either

Why? You can't really help the way you feel. Besides, if you think that their misfortune is deserved, is a certain feeling of smugness and slight enjoyment really so bad?
