What does the word 'love' mean to you?

plural loves
1: strong affection
2: warm attachment
3: beloved person
There is also a verb tense to it but that essentially covers it. It is said that love makes the world go round but I cannot find any rationale for this belief as it transcends the studies that determined the world rotated on its axis in the first place. It is also said that love is eternal but there is no quantifiable proof of this either.
To me, love is confusion. A very nice point of confusion but wholly nonsensical nonetheless.
