They say compromise is the best way to solve problems.

It comes at about 4 miles when your body is reminding you that your lungs are burning, your legs ache and that lovely couple you are passing up is having a lovely "stroll" around the lake; why the fuck aren't we doing this.

Your mind tells you that the 1.5 miles you have left isn't very far; besides that person behind you passed your ass last week and "fuck you" you will not let them do that this week.

Your body tells you at the last .2 miles that your last obstacle is a mountain slow down to the finish line. Your mind tells you that said person is gaining on your lazy ass and you will sprint up that fucking speed bump to show them who is the better runner.

And then you finish. At this point your body tells you to either find the water station or fall down and sweat on the driveway. Your mind tells you to either find the water station or fall down and sweat on the driveway. I, of course, am left with confusion.
