Title: What comes next

Serie(s): Metalocalypse/One Piece (AU)
Pairing: Toki Wartooth/Tashigi
Rating: PG

It had only been two months since Toki began dating Tashigi, but he was more than willing to move to second base.

Before he realized what it meant to be with someone, specifically a non blood-related member of the opposite sex, he always took such things for granted. You did it, you stayed the night, and then you’d leave the next day.
And yet there was no denying how much he enjoyed it, every time. And there was also no denying that in his heart he wanted to share this joy, with the one he cared about.

This wasn’t an easy decision to come to, and he was aware of it. If he didn’t take this step now, though, who knew when their next chance would be, or if they’d still be together when it happened? He didn’t even know any other Asian American girls who wore glasses and colourful shirts to begin with, and it would mean so much if he got to take this step with her.
But there was also much concern about the risks that would be involved, if he went ahead and rushed everything all at once. One mistake on his part, and he could wind up losing her and the special bond that they shared for ever.

It was one night when they were alone, that Toki finally decided it was the right time to tell her his feelings.
“Hey Tashigi, we’s gots to talks about somethink.” She gave him a curious look, up from the floor where she was piecing together the tracks of his train set. Judging from the tone of his voice, and the expression on his face, she could tell that it was something serious.
She glanced briefly at him, and at the tracks she held in her hands, before slowly putting them away. Carefully folding her hands in her lap, Tashigi remained quietly seated on the stone floor to hear him out.
     “Um, okay. Let’s…talk.”
“Comes here,” Toki motioned to her, calmly patting an empty space on his bed. Hesitant at first, she didn’t say a word as she moved to join him on the dark blue quilt.
     “I’ves beens thinking - ”
“…Not very hard?” She added; completing part of his sentence for him.
“Yeah; we’s been goings out for some times, right? And we’s gottens to knows each others well ands stuffs, after thats.” He leaned closer towards her, and gently placed a hand on her left knee; causing her to nearly blush a deep red. Stay calm, girl. She reminded herself. Stay calm. There’s nothing to be worried about. Is there..?
“Is this about us?” Tashigi asked, uncertainly.
“Wells, we’s likes each others, and we likes beings together. We do’s a lot of stuffs together! Going to the movies, collecting toys, watchings Mazinger Z ands Macross, playing Dungeons ‘n’ Dragons… stuffs other couples do’s.”
“Uh huh…” No argument, there. To be honest, it seemed as if they did these things more often than other couples did. A fact which helped in making their relationship feel all the more special to her, as well.

Nonetheless, nothing could have prepared her for what he was about to say, after he took her hand into his own.
     “I’ves decided…that we shoulds do’s more.”
     “M-more?”
“Yeah. Let’s takes it to’s the nexts level. Yous and me. Tashigi…” Taking her other hand, Toki stared directly into her eyes as his fingers clasped around hers.

“Wills yous goes alls the ways withs me…to the San Francisco Wonder-con?” She gawked at him, dumbstruck by the words that had just fallen out of his mouth.
“I’s dones some researchs on it through the inna-net; it’s totally safes! It’s nots San Diego, but it’s cool. So, whats yous say? Wills yous come withs me?”
“Yes!” came the excited, tear-filled reply. “Yes, I’ll come with you all the way to San Francisco; I will!” Without any second thoughts whatsoever, she reached over and hugged him tight with her arms; using so much force, that she pushed him onto his back against the bed covers.

Grinning to himself, Toki realized that he certainly couldn’t have been any happier.

And as of right now, any luckier.
