They turned down my formal petition to change rooms. They, in writing, do not see what is wrong with the situation.

And here I thought they claimed to be civilised people here.

Would you like my help? I am a professor, perhaps if I aided you, they might realize it is a serious situation and not just a student not liking their roommate, which is probably what they have assumed.

I find it hard to believe they assumed that, given I've told them repeatedly exactly what their mistake was and have, in fact, been disciplined for attempting to rectify it myself. If they're honestly that stupid (which I actually don't doubt), your help will do nothing to improve the situation.

They simply cannot be bothered to correct their own mistakes, and were unwilling to let me find other accomodations on my own. They know very well what the problem is, believe me.

Then why do they refuse to listen to you? It seems very odd to me, that such a simple problem would prove so complex to rectify.

Because they're morally bankrupt enough to think that sleeping in mixed company is acceptable?

Yes, well... I'm of the opinion that there has to be some way to solve this. I'm willing to do what I can, since you're obviously not happy with the situation.

If I can't fix it myself, I obviously don't deserve to have it fixed.

And being happy has very little to do with it. In fact, that's the lowest on my priority list right now.

The problem is -- essentially none of this is your fault. It is their mistake, not yours; their burden should be making you happy, as the student. Not turning a blind eye/deaf ear while you make every attempt.

You know what? A lot of things happen that aren't my fault. It doesn't change the fact that they're happening to me and thus I have to fix them.

And no, last I checked, schools did not exist to make their students happy. Quite the opposite, according to some ways of thinking.

My apologies. I was merely attempting to help the situation.

I... just don't want anyone else's help if I can't do something myself.

It's all right, I understand. I wish you the best of luck in resolving your situation.

At least you seem to understand. Most people here don't.

I try my best to relate to others.

Well. I suppose it's your time to waste.
