Me

As Billy Connolly put it so eloquently, "Our natural color's a pasty blue! We have to tan for a week to turn white!"

Barb in the trenches

Note the height of the snow mounds. It's easily 10 feet tall on either side of the path to the door, and that path is at least a foot of packed snow.

Winters are hard on the dogs

Especially our boys, who are only two feet tall. When they go off-roading in the clearings, they stick their noses up as if swimming and leave wakes behind them, tails wagging in the air.

Looking towards the privy

See previous statement about snow depth - that path is probably three feet of packed snow here.

Up the hill past the Privy

If we get any more snow, the whole privy is going to be buried.

Barb and Caution

Caution doesn't like to get in the sled, no matter how much we try to get him to go for a ride.

Old House

Again, any more snow and the door will be sealed off till melt.

Bus

Snow's melted down a bit over the past week.

The yard

A freakin' winter wonderland.

Me in the driveway

Ekk behind me, with skid steer.

A path interrupted.

Probably one of the dogs made it before jumping into the driveway.

Ekk

I think this is a really good picture of him - he's got both eyes open, and it doesn't even look like a mug shot! Bonus points: 4 different plaid shirts.

Photographic proof of Ekk at the wheel of a Subaru

(Okay, he was testing it to make sure it still ran.)

Me driving the skid steer

I did my part clearing off the driveway. I think these are the only pictures of me ever taken where I am operating heavy machinery.

Me & the Skid Steer

I got a plaid wool shirt, wool pants, and a piece of heavy equipment. I'm not sure what that makes me, but I like it.

Caution the Librarian

He's a good dog. I put my glasses on him, and he didn't even try to shake them off.

It are a fact - I know because of my learnings

She was actually trying to sniff them, but I took the photo anyways.

Don't be surprised if I don't get back to you for a couple days. Ekk and I are going down to finalize our commercial fisheries permits tomorrow, and see if we can get the federales down in Gloucester to find a convenient loophole or two for us. Back Wednesday night, probably.
