So, I actually woke up at a semi-decent time today and got to go for a walk in the woods behind the house (also, apparently, my parents' property) with may family and my dogs. There were quite a few thorn-covered vines, so I'm glad I was clad in denim and leather, but it was a pleasant enough walk.
We (and by we I mean the dogs) found deer bones: two legs, a jaw, and an impressive section of ribcage and spine. It was tough to get them to leave the things alone.
The wooded ground was so covered with leaves I would be afraid to go back there in warmer seasons. I can imagine snakes, too, usually make their homes in the area.
Aways back we found a clearing, though, and I couldn't help thinking about how much I'd like to take the commune on a picnic there.
The end of our forward journey came when we bumped into our neghbor's horse pasture. Then we doubled back; most of the family turned straight home, but my father and I took the long way 'round.
My mother and brother left this afternoon, and it unexpectedly made me sad. I was actually on the verge of tears.
I know you probably won't read this, but I tried to call you a few minutes ago, Sena. I hope I can reach you soon and I hope you're having a pleasant break.
Tomorrow I shall be alone in the house, and thus have unlimited access to the Internets.
Also: I am very very sad that Hawaii lost the Sugar Bowl to Georgia!!! And so miserably!
peace,
walk,
