In Light of Recent Events . . .
I really didn't choose that title for any reason other than that it sounds official. I'm in a mood.
So, today I received yet another package from the ex. It contained tea, a DVD of himself, a letter (the contents of which are best spoken about in private), a business card that lists me as the vice president of his new company, a photo of Honolulu, and something tiny wrapped in a square of brown paper, taped to a note card.
I peeled the thing from its backing, curious, only to find that it was round. Round and hollow in the middle. Oh gods. I thought I was going to die. He got me a ring. Upon opening the thing, I found that it was indeed a ring, but plastic. No diamonds involved. I can breathe again.
Otherwise, my day has been lovely and productive.
In other news, I, too, would like to give a shout out to Professor Olympia Vernon. If you have indeed taken the time to grace my melodramatic LiveJournal with your eyes, thank you for your time. Also, I want to express my gratitude to you for challenging my lover intellectually. May he grow wiser of the world and keep strong because of it.
