after several months of surmounting various bureaucratic hurdles, i have finally passed the last one; yesterday i was sworn in as a Notary Public of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

I'm jealous - this is a thing I want to do, but it turns out I don't know any lawyers.

try just walking into one of these folks' offices during business hours; i met the attorney who signed my paperwork by the vehicle of us refinancing our mortgage, and as soon as we had finished that paperwork i explained to her my reasons for wanting to be a notary public, whereupon she decided that those sounded like good reasons for her, and she signed my reference form. just because you don't personally know an attorney doesn't necessarily mean you won't be able to get a reference.

also, when the time comes i'd be glad to notarize your application :)
