Stolen Season
I managed to re-adjust my sleeping schedule and get up bright an early for my 6am shift this morning. Of course, come 8pm I had to take a brief nap if I wanted to follow through with the planned movie night tonight. Lisa and Tieshia are coming over to watch the legendary PS: Your Cat is Dead. I can't wait.
Last night I watched Shakespeare In Love for the first time in quite a while. I love that movie. This time around there was one line that stood out to me more than ever...

Those words went straight to my heart because they are true to my life. What Daniel and I have is merely a stolen season. Just time to spend before he leaves. And it frustrates me endlessly. Carlos and I had the same thing as well. But of course this is far more intense. What I want is to focus on finding the right one. Ive never been a casual dater. I know I have plenty of time before I want to settle down but I at least want to know Ive got a start. But instead, Im am giving these months to someone who is still just going to up and leave the country in September. It isnt a casual relationship at all but still temporary. It doesnt make any sense but I love him. And this is our last chance. Long distance relationship is what you are probably thinking. Yeah right. We are too young to play that harmful game. Who knows what there is in the future for us. But when he leaves for England, thats it. As the time gets closer I dont know if Im more or less ready for that farewell.
Ever bought a DVD collection at the mall? You know how the enclosed security device in it will make every other security alarm in the mall go off? Good times indeed. We learned that Victoria Secrets has THE loudest alarm. We got plenty of attention as the 30 or so customers all turned to look at us. When we were leaving VS we informed the sales associate that it would be going off again and that we dont have anything. When she said that was alright I proceeded to ask if she wouldnt mind if we RAN out so everyone would think we stole something. She didnt like that very much. Oh well.
Im currently waiting for Lisa and Tieshia to get here. Who knows when that will happen. But I sure hope they remember to pick up some fruit.
