I know it has been a long time. But i just got back from England and have a great summary all typed out so I might as well post it will absolutely no introduction. Besides the one I just gave of course.
day 1
I did everything I could ahead of time to prepare for this trip. And I did very well. Come the actual day I was calm and collected. I felt prepared, packed, tan, and fit for the journey ahead. I went to all of my classes and then off to the aiport.
Airport security sure has become quite a spectacle. People in line with shoes removed and bags unpacked waiting to go through scans and frisks and suspicious glances. Especially in the states. I must say, however, that Virgin Atlantic takes really good care of there passengers. It was a comfortable, enjoyable, and tasty experience. I slept really well too. I was lucky enough to have a small child next to me. This gave me plenty of arm room. That is, until she started to cuddle with me while sleeping. But that was endearing and not at all uncomfortable. I succesfully caught both trains to get me to Exeter and had a great chat with the lady next to me on one of them.
Upon arrival it wasnt too cold so I got to stick to the cuter, rather than warmer, coat for my reunion with Daniel. Seeing him was funny. We just chatted for a while and acted as though nothing was strange as we walked off in the direction towards campus. We had a ten minute walk of this. Everything was already so different and beautiful. I could even see the difference from the plane. From the train I had already seen more sheep than I had in my entire life. And I saw a shaggy cow!
We got to his hall and settled in a bit before heading off to the first pub immediately. We his friend Dave and Daves girlfriend Austin at the Australasian pub The Walkabout It was a really neat place and the people were really cool. We talked about my trip and such. Played a couple games. We were drinking something called a Snakebite and it was very good. We played a game called "Ive Never" were you basically say something you have never done and everyone who has done it has to drink. Very revealing. We just hung out there for hours. By the time the rest of the group arrived I was almost ready for bed. I was pretty exhausted. I met everyone. Didnt really talk to them much as they didnt seem all that interested. At least not the three girls that sat down around me. They pretty much just spoke to eachother. Kind of odd but apparently british girls are snobby ;)
Soon after, Daniel began our walk back to his hall. They walk everywhere there obviously. We got to talking about serious issues involving us then. But we were both pretty exhuasted and a bit tipsy so it wasnt very productive. We talked something about what its been like trying to move on. Also the "we are not getting back together during the breaks" issue was touched on. But nothing very significant. When we got back to his tiny little room things got a little sketchy between us. But we knew it would in one way or another. I will just let you imagine what way I am referring to.
