In which my obsession with The Mars Volta makes a reappearance
This interview is kind of hilarious because, of all of the CDs that I own, the FBI copyright infringement warning is the biggest on my Mars Volta ones. On four or five out of the seven-odd albums of theirs that I own, the FBI warning more or less completely obscures the artwork printed on the CD. It's pretty great. Also, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is completely adorable, in addition to basically being a genius.
This was brought on by the fact that I'm finally listening to their newest album, now that it's been out for a year. And they're already recording another one! Omar Rodriguez-Lopez's solo recording habits are oozing over into TMV. Not that I'm complaining. I would love three TMV albums a year, or however many solo albums he ends up doing per year. I know a lot of it's just drawn from the annals, but still, the man must never sleep.
