It's been awhile since I've updated my journal, so I think I will start with last Thursday. It was a pretty good day.
I was being trained to open the store at work, so I worked from 8:30 to 2:00, then at 7:00 Ben and I went over to Stan and Ellen's house and hung out until midnight...woohoo! I had some lovely iced tea over there early in the evening, and then later on I had a root beer float. Mmm mmm good.
I had so much fun talking to Stan and Ellen (and Katie too, she's such a sweety). Ben and I went into great depth about when we first started dating and how he proposed and so on and so forth. Then they told us some stories about them, too. Very fun subject. Carol was over there until about 9:00, but she couldn't stay late because she had to go to work at 6am the next morning.
Ellen is so funny...I remember I brought up something that I saw on the Today Show about a man who was about 55 or 60 whose real name was Harry Potter, and he was saying all the funny reactions/comments he gets because of the fictional character's popularity. As soon as I said that, Ellen jumped up and logged onto the internet to look up the name Harry Potter in the white pages...ahh...that Ellen. Such a hoot.
She said there had to be a few real Harry Potters out there, since it was a pretty common-sounding name. Well, she was right! She came up with about 65 or so...haha...she was all excited, she said, "Here's one in New Jersey...one in California...ooh! There's a Harry Potter in Denmark!"
Then she wanted to try and send one of the real Harry Potters an email...haha...she was all thinking of things to say, such as, "Are you the REAL Harry Potter?!" It made it more funny that she was acting serious about it.
Then we were looking on the American Greetings website so we could email Harry Potter a card...then Ben got the great idea to search for a Harry Potter card. Too bad they didn't have any Harry Potter cards. And then we realized we couldn't actually get any of the real Harry Potter's email addresses....darn. But it was a brilliant idea nonetheless.
We still managed to find our way into a chat room though...it was called "Harry Potter role play" haha...what freaks there are in this world...hehe. :)
Then Ellen asked the members of the chat room if the real Harry Potter would please sign in, and of course they all claimed to be the real Harry Potter. Crazy stuff, man.
Anyway, that was an awesome night.
Then Friday came and went.....then Saturday sucked. I won't go into details, but if I told you about my day on Saturday you would all feel sooo sorry for me so I'll spare you. (I'll probably do an entry on that later.) Well, actually, the evening on Saturday got a bit better. Just a bit. I went to see Identity since it had gotten to the cheap theater. I thought it was good, but Ben didn't like it. Not his kind of movie...he likes love stories or anything referred to as a chick flick or a feel-good movie...haha. Love my Ben. :)
That leads us up to today. Today was a great day! Went to church this morning then went with my family (mom, two sisters, niece & of course Ben), and some church friends to Sandy Point and we went swimming and talking and eating. Oh, and Ben, Kevin, and Katie and I played several rounds of a card game. We added up all of our scores, and my cumulative was the highest! Woohoo, I was the winner! Cassidi was very excited and thrilled to watch some kids beat the crap out of a pinata, then she started to clap and cheer when the candy finally fell out. Her eyes got huge...haha...anywho, then later I went fishing with Ben on our little boat on a pond. Good fun. We caught one and it totally freaked me out! It's kind of creepy when they're flapping around like crazy on your little boat. I made Ben throw it back in the water. It was still exciting when we caught it, though. Fishing...oh, the suspense!
We finished fishing when it got dark, came home, did dishes, watched a bit of the sports channel (well, Ben did), and that pretty much leads up to now.
OH YEAH.....I guess I should mention in this post the bad news. I won't be able to go to Creation Fest. :( Sucks, I know. Too many people have already requested time off at work...what can ya do? *Sigh* Ahh well, maybe next year....goodnight journal.
