Hey all, it's been awhile since I rapped at ya, but I been real busy.
Sad news this morning when I found out former baseball manager/coach/guru/mascot Don Zimmer had passed away. Oh, sure, at one point I may have taken delight in Pedro Martinez latching onto his old, wrinkly, labia-like jowls and throwing him on the ground. In fact, I'm still happy that Martinez gave him what-for because I always thought Zimmer was a total putz, but it is still sad news. Rest easy, Tweedledum, and thanks for your efforts in expanding the game of baseball.
In other news, the band American Football re-released their first (well, only) 1999 self-titled full length album last month. It's easily one of my Most Favorite Ever albums since I first heard it in...ummm...200fiiiiive? or so. Now, 15 years after the album came out, they have released a music video for their song "Never Meant" (also my favorite song on the album!). It's a good'un. Check it:
Things to look forward to next time:
- I ran that Tough Mudder* thing!
- I went to Columbus!
- I suffered a minor head injury/mild concussion last night!
Actually that last point doesn't even necessitate much detail - I was playing basketball last night, got shouldered in the jaw by my dude Grimey while we were both going up for a rebound, head snapped back, head got a little swim-my, kept playing, experienced blurry vision on the drive home, showered/passed out, woke up at 4:00AM with a headache, took Advil, passed out again 30 or so minutes later, woke up for work at 7:30, was pretty out of it for like two hours, had my Mum take me to the ER, doc was all, "Prolly nothin'...minor, if anything," I was all, "Sure? 'Cause I've had like 3 of these things and I'm not tryna be like a Troy Aikman, you know? You know," doc was all, "Cat scan? Prolly unnecessary...why expose yourself to radiation? Just be a Regular Dude for a few days and not a Straight Bad Ass," and I was all "Word."
See? Simple as that. So scratch that last point!
