Shirley Temple Pilots
Hey all, it's been awhile since I rapped at ya, but I been real busy.
I never cared for The Starting Line at all, but the song "Best of Me" was an exception. Hooks galore, and I love the delivery of "Tell me what you thought about when you were gone and..." in the beginning of the chorus.
In more news that's more along the lines of the "Update About Significant Moments in Your Life" variety, I got my master's diploma in the mail at the end of January! It was pretty anti-climactic. I was in my basement switching laundry over while I was checking a voicemail from my Mom, telling me I received a letter from Cleveland State. At first I was all, "Great *SARCASM*. They probably want me to send them more money." Then when I got my Mom on the horn she was all, "Hun, I think this might be your diploma. It's in a cardboard envelope labeled 'Do Not Bend.' Do you want me to open it for you?" So THEN I was all, "Yeah!" And she was all, "Yeah!" And together we were all, "YEAH!" That was about it. I didn't go to commencement in December. I didn't really want to, and that is mostly due to how there's something that bothers me about paying additional money for a mass ceremony that is supposed to celebrate educational accomplishments, but I also didn't want to have anyone else really make a big deal out of it.
The part I'd REALLY been looking forward to upon graduation was this:
And Photobucket denied me the full joke! They changed their photo editor software sometime in the last few months or so and I can no longer layer images. I was really looking forward to putting my face on Dolph Lundgren's body.
So now that my schooling appears to be over for the rest of my life, I'm hoping to spend more free time reading for pleasure (or, rather, continuing to read for pleasure but no longer feeling guilty about it) and doing a better job of consistently updating. It sounds kinda lame/potentially pathetic based on the content that is actually churned out, but it really is one of my favorite creative outlets.
