Our first head of foam extensions, so we are waiting for reports on how well it lasts and so forth. Definitely one *ONLY* for people with an undercut. This used 30 large sheets.
staplegun won't work without something solid to staple into to bend the staple back on itself [that's why Em can do her staple trick.] A regular stapler would do better. If you say staple enough times it looses all meaning ... Also : damn. And sorry. The braids are holding though?
which is why i was wondering about one of two options:
tie 'em on with plastic lacing/tubing (only good if you like multi-texture hair)
or what i did with allezbleu's hair in whitby... loop an elastic band round a piece of foam, latchook elastic band through hair, and then loop round the bit of foam braided in. (that's an appalling description. do you get what i mean though?) It would have the same result as tying in with plastic, but avoids a multi-texture look.
I didn't think those big knots would hold...
OR (still thinking) we could sew them in at the top?
wait i thought the staplegun thing was really funny and i was laughing at your joke and then i scrolled down and someone was like actualy rationalizing the staplegun idea and it totaly killed it. now i cry
forever
looks great though, couldn't you just tie the knot and put a little dab of hot glue in there? i got the sheets and i want to know what works best before i ruin all my foam and kill my friend's head trying something stupid
if you look at our most recent foam post, we've done a new method, braiding the hair with ribbon and stitching the foam, and that seams to be lasting much better, so that's our recomendation. If you still wanted the knots for 'bigness' you could put few stitches through them too to anchor them.
(am off to buy a staplegun!)
