dear amberto and estaban, thank you for much much fun on the eve of a new year. extra thanks to amberto for all the martinis and for being so stupid, yet so cool on the floor drunk with me.
the only other thing i want to accomplish with this post is to ennumerate all the books given to me as christmas presents. because i'm overjoyed. jeff gave me murakami's 'the elephant vanishes' and 'the complete book of herbs: a practical guide to growing and using herbs' by bremness. i will have spiral shaped gardens of lavender by summer. my little brother, zac, gave me moses' 'wintering' and eugenides' 'middlesex'. we went to the bookstore together and he requested i pick out two books and end all of his christmas shopping headaches. jeff's sister gave us two books called collector's compass. one on fifties decor and another on sixties and seventies. and with gift cards from my aunt winnie and my parents' friend, sharon, i was able to pick up murakami's 'norwegian wood', 'the wind-up bird chronicle', and 'dance, dance, dance' as well as marquez's 'love in the time of cholera' and stoller's 'stitch n' bitch'. then at work tuesday i found red and pink hardcover versions of jane austen's pride and prejudice, sense and sensibility, and emma to replace my shitty signet classics versions with the broken bindings and torn out pages. a hardcover copy of bulfinch's mythology and michner's the source. i just may be spoiled. but my house is trashed from moving and cat-wing is terrorizing the dog. a twin peaks marathon is set to commence tonight.
