wow. livejournal's dead.
hahaha. irony.
my mother approached me yesterday, saying, "i think it's appropriate if you go to church sunday. it's easter."
i used to go with little to no thought that graced my calendar. why it occured to me this particular year, i'm unsure, but i want to refuse. i told her that i'm not christian, nor do i want to be, and it's anything but appropriate if i just attend on a holiday for appearance's sake.
it's absurd. the entire idea of the religion is absurd to me. so, jesus was the only son born of god. why could god only have one son?? and why would he need to die to bridge us to perfect eternity?? how could you rely on something such as the bible to base your life on??
it just seems as if the people wrapped up in the text of the bible could devote such tremendous efforts to more constructive outlets. living through love and awareness and strengthening the (i think) inherent bonds between every individual seems like a much noble cause than depreciating yourself and others by referring to themselves as "sinners" who couldn't redeem anything without the help of a man who died 2,000 years ago.
i do tolerate it, though. i detest intolerance.
ooo. there's a few fellows who come in frequently. jenn usually grabs them, so i pay them no nevermind. tonight, they were my table. come to find out one's vegan. we talked about meatless food foreverrr. and we're getting the same tattoo, almost. which is insane, since i made mine up. he got 5 refills. haha. i'm such a hippy, but so is he.
becky and i are going to boca joe's thursday. haha. i hate going to bars with pretty girls. 'cept allie.
